Day Camps

 

Throughout the summer, WillowMay Farm conducts a series of Day Camps.

Summer 2008 Sessions:

 July 21 - 25  (Beginners)

 July 25 - August 1st  (Introduction to cross rails)

 August 4 - 8  (Jumping camp)

Session 1 - Carrot Crunchers for beginners  July 21-25

Riding Camps provide instruction with a low student-to-trainer ratio (6) in: Riding Basics and Safety, Horsemanship Skills, learning to ride and Stable Management. This session is for beginners.

 

Session 2 - Pelican crossing July 28 -August 1

(5 places left)

This session is for those riders ready to learn about jumping. Introduction to over fences. Jumping cross rails 12" and progressing up to a 14" brush box. Riding Camps provide instruction with a low student-to-trainer ratio (6) in: Riding Basics and Safety, Horsemanship Skills, learning to ride and Stable Management.

 

Session 3 - Jumping Camp August 4 - 8

(7 places left)

This camp session is for the truly competent riders. Riders must be able to walk, trot, canter, and jump 2' cross rails or 2' fences. Camp will include

Cross rails, verticals, Brush boxes grid work and completing small courses. This year you will also have the opportunity to learn to ride bareback on the flat.

Riding Camps provide instruction with a low student-to-trainer ratio (6)

 

Each session will consist of 12 children.

Camp hours:

9am until 1pm, Monday thru Thursday

Friday 9am until Noon

  Please note:-

We thrive to make the camp week full of imaginative play, nicely schooled horses with two legged friends as well as four. We hope that this will be a week to remember for your child. Camp hours are from 9am until 1pm. Please ensure that your child comes prepared with a packed lunch, bring a large bottle of water and sunscreen with tick repellent. Children are required to wear long pants for riding they may bring shorts to participate in non-riding activities. There is a soda/water machine for an .85 cent fee.
