KALANTA – Thank you to Dr. Rebecca Splan of VT. Kalanta is a beautiful Dutch Warmblood mare by the Olympic showjumper Concorde. Concorde comes from very strong jumping lines. His sire is the impressive dominant breeding stallion (Voltaire - one of the world's top jumper sires) who via his sire Furioso II and Gotthard is bred to perform. Voltaire was second in the World Breeding Rankings for Showjumping Sires in 1996. Concorde's dam, Flyer, is by the legendary Marco Polo, one of the most influential Dutch stallions in breeding and jumping. Flyer produced at least 6 international jumpers. An international jumper, Concorde won the Grand Prix of Nordrhein-Westfalen at Aken (with Jos Lansink) and they were Champion of the Netherlands in 1994, 2nd in the Grand Prix of Amsterdam, 2nd Darmstadt, 2nd Lanaken, 2nd Helsinki and 2nd Gothenburg. For three years, Concorde was the sire with the most offspring at the World Breeding Championships for Young Horses and has famous offspring on the international circuit.

Kalanta's damline is also very strong, with her first five dams rated keur, ster, pref or model. This line has produced stallions Renville, Interpol, Spartaan, Stralmeester and James Bond, along with World Cup jumper Eurocommerce Geneve. Second dam Tavanta also produced the top stallion Adios, by Legaat.
Kalanta has produced some wonderful foals here are just of her outstanding foals:- Niberanta (KWPN filly by Libero H) foaled in Holland. Dam of Scharmantha (by Calvados), CSI*** jumper in Europe).& Alarm (bay NRPS gelding by Andiamo Z) International Jumper, Grand Prix jumper with Chris Sorensen. Kalanta is a keur mare who was imported by Iron Spring Farm and showed through Third Level dressage, despite her genetic predisposition for jumping. We hope Kalanta will continue to produce top quality foals for WMF.

BIT A LUCK - Thank you to Dr. Rebecca Splan of VT. She is by Holsteiner Sire of the Year Le Santo, who proved himself as a talented jumper before going on to win Championships at Prix St Georges and Intermediare I. Le Santo is by Landgraf I, sire of over 130 approved sons.
The damside of Bit A Luck's pedigree is equally impressive. She is out of Shine My Luv, whose Rheinlander grandsire My King was both a Grand Prix jumper and Grand Prix dressage horse on the Canadian Olympic team. Granddam Shine-O-Bit was shown through Grand Prix by Linda Larisch and was her mount at the Pan American Games. Shine-O-Bit's sire Bit-O-Shine was an extraordinarily successful Grand Prix and exhibition horse with dressage legend Chuck Grant.

An injury as a yearling kept Bit A Luck out of competition, but she is confirmed through third level and has exceptional ability to perform collected movements. She is an extravagant mover, which she passes on to her foals. She is the dam of 100% Premium foals with ISR/Oldenburg NA and has been awarded star status for her excellent production record. We are delighted to welcome Bit A Luck to WMF and hope that she is able to keep her wonderful production record.

Wonderful news Lucky has been confirmed in foal to Welt Marke bred 8/29/09 check by next year to hear more.
